Ladson Earns All-American Jersey

South Dade senior wide receiver Frank Ladson received his honorary

jersey at a ceremony held at the school for the All-American Bowl in San Antonio, TX on Jan. 5.

Ladson, a consensus five-star recruit who has verbally committed to Clemson, is the first South Dade player to be named to the prestigious game.

“It’s real exciting,” Ladson said. “I’ve been watching this game for years. I know players like Odell Beckham who played in this game. It’s a real big moment for me and my family. It’s a great accomplishment. I’m just real excited now.”

Ladson has helped lead the Buccaneers to a 9-2 mark heading into the Class 8A regional semifinals against Southridge. He leads the team in receiving yards with over 700 to go with nine touchdowns for an offense that has averaged 31.2 points a game.

“It’s been incredible,” head coach Nate Hudson said. “He’s open up a lot of opportunities for us on the offensive side of the ball and for himself creating a lot of mismatches. I’m extremely pleased and proud of this moment. Just to be a part of it and knowing this is a historical moment here at South Dade is a blessing.”
